Our Podcasting Experience

In podcasting, we tackled a huge task. From the beginning of the course, our task was clear. We would be graded on recording, researching for, and editing a podcast of our own design. The first week was pretty slow, plotting ideas connecting the dots on themes and relevant points that we wanted to make. What we ended up with I think is actually quite special. Our podcast would be on the topic of dreams that people that we'd have on the show could recollect and describe for us in the best detail they could. Afterward, we would go deep into why we think that dream happened how it did and what we can take away from it. Of course, we did our best with all the professional websites and theories we could find.

For our first episode, I was pretty certain that I wanted to do one of my own dreams, only because I write a bunch of them down and thought a dream from one of the show's hosts would be quite cool. The dream was one of the magic powers, confusing thoughts, and feelings, and really just the stress of a relationship. This was our script for our introduction to Mind's Eye.

D: Hello and welcome listeners to a world of fantastical beasts, and situations twisted by the psyche where we immerse ourselves into a world of dreams, share experiences, and analyze dreams as two ambitious high school students.

D: I’m your host D. N.

N: and I'm your host N. B.

N: And welcome to Mind's Eye

*intro music for a couple of seconds and then fades but still stays constant but quiet in the background*

D: In this episode, we’ll be talking about a dream experience real near and dear to my heart cause this one is actually one of my own dreams. Back in the year 2020, I was still in a relationship with someone from my former school. *music fades completely*

While pretty short it got the message across of what we were doing and clued the listeners in for how the podcast was going to feel the entire time as well. Scripting was done and all that was left was to record and edit. It took us such a long time to put these items together for you, we hope you'll enjoy our finished episode one and a quick trailer that we think sums up the show pretty well. I am very proud of what we have done here and hope you enjoy.
